Winter/Spring 2026 Schedule

Schedule

Our Winter/Spring program runs in three progressive 6-week cycles from January 16 until May 15. Whether you are an absolute beginner or have been dancing for a few years, we have something for you.

In addition, we offer all-levels drop-in classes before our Matinee Milonga on 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month (January 11, 25; February 08, 22; March 08, 22; April 12, 26; May 10, break on May 24).

Level 1 - Tango Initiation (6 Weeks)

Our most popular gateway to tango!

This 6-week progressive series is a fun, hands-on way to explore the fundamentals of tango. You’ll develop balance, posture, connection, musicality, and technique—all while learning to improvise naturally with a partner.

Class vocabulary includes the tango walk, cunitas (rock steps), the follower’s cross, back ochos, the ocho cortado, key navigational tools, and introductory adornments.

For an even faster learning curve and to build a stronger foundation, many students pair this series with our weekend bootcamp (February 28–March 1).

Level 2/3 - Mastering the Close Embrace: Dancing with Connection in Tight Spaces

One of the most sought-after qualities in tango is a comfortable, connected embrace. In this 6-week series, we’ll dive deep into the techniques that make dancing closely and confidently a joy.

We’ll focus on the vocabulary and movements most commonly used on crowded dance floors, helping you become a confident, comfortable and responsive partner—whether leading or following.

This series is perfect for you if you:

  • Have completed two or more iterations of our Level 2 series.

  • Have a solid understanding of tango basics but want to feel more comfortable and connected in close embrace.

Participants will refine their understanding of the basics in parallel and cross systems, learn both clockwise and counter-clockwise turns, and explore the varied textures of the ocho cortado.

Level 2/3 - Dance All 3 Rhythms: Vals & Milonga Series

The three rhythms of tango—Tango, Vals, and Milonga—complement each other and are what make dancing at a milonga so rich and exciting. We want you to enjoy all three rhythms and feel confident dancing them!

To the end the season (and the 125-day challenge), we are offering a 6-week series focused on Vals and Milonga. In this series, you’ll learn to recognize different rhythms and explore combinations that let you enjoy every tanda at a milonga.

While Vals flows with elegant graceful turns, Milonga is playful, staccato, and rhythmic. Through drills, partnered sequences, and musicality exercises, you’ll adapt your current tango vocabulary to these rhythms. By the end of the series, you’ll be grooving to Milonga music and moving dreamily to Vals.
