Frequently Asked Questions

If you have taken 3 tango classes or less, please start with Tango Initiation. If you are familiar with rock steps, ochos, and the follower's cross, join us for Level 1 - Close Embrace.

2. Do I need a partner?

Nope! Many folks come alone and make friends as they learn tango! Parthers are welcome, but we will ask you to rotate throughout the class anyway to that you can meet everyone and practice your improvisational skills. At Level 2 and higher, you may work exclusively with your own partner if you wish.

2. Do I need to register for the Drop-in class at the Eighteenth Street Lounge?

Nope! Just remember to bring photo ID. The Lounge is strictly a 21+ venue.

3. The Tango Initiation series has already started, should I wait for the next one?

You may join a currently running Initiation course in week 2, especially if you have already attended the Drop-in class at the Lounge. From week 3 onward, please wait until the next session starts, or schedule a private lesson to catch up. (see below #8)
